Research Focus: Engineering multi-layered hydrogels for spatially-controlled differentiation of human stem cells to complex tissue
The goal of this project is to identify unique hydrogel compositions which direct human bone marrow stem cells (BMSCs) or adipose derived stem cells (ADSCs) to differentiate into specific phenotypes. Specifically, we aim to produce multi-layered hydrogel constructs that direct a single human stem cell population to differentiate into the zonal variations found in native tissue.
